A1 Road Widening – Apeldoorn to Twello

In 2023, BHP Funderingstechniek contributed to the widening of the A1 motorway between Apeldoorn and Twello. The project involved constructing foundation supports for new road infrastructure.

Project Details:

• Foundation type: Steel sheet pile support and bored piles
• Total number of piles: 256
• Pile diameters: Ø 400 mm and Ø 500 mm
• Pile lengths: Ranging from 10 m to 15 m
• Installation equipment: Junttan PM 20
• Client: Rijkswaterstaat
• Main Contractors: Joint venture of Van Gelder and Friso Bouwgroep

This work ensured a stable and durable base for the widened motorway, supporting enhanced traffic flow and safety. The project was carried out with precision, meeting strict technical and environmental requirements for infrastructure upgrades.
